The tropical storm warning will be in effect for southern New England on Friday night and extend to the north until Saturday.
The tropical storm and coastal flooding will start Friday night in the southern part of New England and move northward up along New England’s coast, and then over to Canada. The hazardous weather conditions may cause trees to fall and power outages.
Hurricane conditions are predicted to be present in parts of New Brunswick, and much of Nova Scotia on Saturday.
Lee is a Category 1, 80-mph sustained wind storm that’s moving at 20mph north. The center of the hurricane was predicted to be moving away from Bermuda on Friday night and towards New England’s coast and Canada.

It means hurricane-like conditions could occur within the area of the alert. Watches usually are issued at least 48 hours in advance of the expected first occurrence of winds with tropical storm force.

Storm surge forecasters warn that the surge could be between 3 and 6 feet in certain areas if the storm surge peaks during the high tide.

Strength and Impact of Lee: Lee will remain dangerous and large when it reaches the coasts of New England and Canada. On Friday night, tropical storm-force wind extended 345 miles out from Lee’s centre, and hurricane-force wind extended 115 miles.
