After an important water main ruptured in Harrow, this morning hundreds of residents were left without water.
The public is advised to stay away from Wealdstone due to flooding
The London Fire Brigade released a press release in response to this incident, advising people to stay away from Wealdstone as long as the situation does not improve.
According to London Fire Brigade emergency services were quickly dispatched and Wealdstone High Street had been flooded. About 25 firefighters responded with four fire engines to the flooding caused by a burst 24-inch water pipe.
The water level reached around 30cm in the area affected, which extends from Locket Road up to Masons Avenue.
The Station Commander Chris Swallow, in an official announcement, detailed ongoing efforts to resolve the situation. “Crews use sandbags on the scene to prevent more property from being damaged and they are working to redirect floodwater.”
The local community has been affected by the incident that occurred this morning. It was reported at 6:26 am to the fire department. Water was found in homes and offices when people woke up.
As a result, children had trouble getting to school and workers struggled to get to work.
