The fire started before dawn on Monday and damaged the home of a resident in Ambleside.
Edmonton Fire Rescue Services responded to the 2517 Anderson Way, on Monday after neighbors saw smoke coming from the roof.
I heard an unusual noise. It was like a loud thump. Carlos Mejia said, “I (didn’t) know exactly what it was… but then I saw the lights.”
We saw that the house had already caught fire. It was a pretty large one. The trucks kept on rolling.”
The firefighters confirmed that there were no people in the home when they arrived, but they said they had evacuated two neighbouring houses as a precaution.
Edmonton Fire reported that the fire had been declared out by 6:37 am.
Edmonton Fire officials said that both neighbouring houses were spared with minor siding damage.
Global News reports that the home has suffered severe damage, including the loss of the roof.
Edmonton Fire confirmed that this house had been previously burned on August 24, but it was not as severe.
